On February 24, an accident took place in the capital city of Jharkhand, Ranchi. A car crashed into a scooter, and the drivers of the vehicles were taken to RIMS (Rajendra Institue of Medical Sciences) hospital, where they died. Shivansh was driving the car, whereas Mohd Shamshad was riding the scooter

Family members of Shivansh and the members of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) have raised suspicion about these claims saying Shiavansh was killed instead. And that this was not an accident. Shivan’s family demanded a fair trial.

Why Shivansh’s death raises suspicion?

CCTV footage of the incident is widely circulated on the internet, but it shows the clip till the accident. What happened after the accident is recorded nowhere. The accident took place at the main square of the capital city where there are a number of shops having cameras installed in front of them. The Hindpeedhi police station is not far from the spot, says the reports still there are no clips available from that night.

Questions raised by BJP leaders

Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Ranchi, Sanjay Seth from his official Twitter account wrote, “The video footage of the accident that took place two days back in Jharkhand raises serious questions against the administration. The lane has more than 12 CCTV cameras installed, still, there are clips to justify the accident. The statement of the victim’s family is also very crucial”.

The former Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Babulal Marandi from his official Twitter account wrote, “Shivansh when taken to the hospital told his family that he was brutally attacked. His family alleged that he has been lynched by a mob. The police refused all these allegations”.

The Member of Legislative Assembly from Ranchi, CP Singh from his official Twitter account wrote, Is the administration trying to hide a mob lynching? The footage is available till the accident only; where is the other half? Is it an attempt to whitewash a crime?

A criminal lawyer at the Jharkhand High Court alleged, “A Hindu youth Shivansh was lynched to death in Jharkhand’s Ranchi. The administration is smartly trying to protect the culprits.”

It is pertinent to mention that after the death of both Shivansh and Shamshad, the brother of Shamshad Mohd Saggir filed a police complaint against the car driver for rash driving leading to murder. A case under IPC sections 279 (Rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by driving rashly), 338 (grievous hurt by driving rashly endangering human life ), 304 A (causing death by negligence), and 427 (mischief causing damage of money) have been registered.
