Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel spoke at “Amrutkaalma Swarnim Bhavisya Taraf,” a one-day seminar hosted in Gandhinagar by the state’s Panchayat Department for the presidents, vice presidents, and executive committee chairman of the district panchayats. He exhorted the district panchayats and the panchayat officers of the state to give the development projects a new impetus through the flawless coordination of their respective office-bearers.

Before planning the district’s development projects at the district panchayat level, the office-bearers must be included in the list of development projects through effective coordination. In a novel move, the Chief Minister made this seminar an interactive interaction with district panchayat presidents, vice presidents, and executive presidents. By questioning, he was able to get thorough information regarding their performance, incentives from the state government, local issues occurring at the field level, and administrative matters from the office bearers of approximately ten districts.

The Chief Minister urged the officeholders to maximise the use of development funding through long-term planning. In order to make Panchayati Raj more robust and effective, the CM launched the “Panchayati Raj Information and Management System” (PARINAM) site through the Panchayat Department during the seminar’s opening ceremony. Via this PARINAM portal, there will be direct paperless contact between the taluka and the state government, and a centralised system would enable real-time monitoring and management of intra-district transfers, promotions, and other personnel schemes.

In addition, by integrating PARINAM with e-Sarkar in the future, the Panchayat Department and the State Government will strive towards total transparency and paperlessness. The Panchayat State Minister, Shri Bachubhai Khabad, instructed the existing officials to facilitate the dissemination of the benefits of state-centered programmes to the populace. Shri Manojkumar Das, Additional Chief Secretary, proposed preparing a master plan in accordance with the UNDP Sustainable Development Goals and the needs of the inhabitants of each district using a “bottom-up” method.

This one-day seminar covered the District Panchayat Development Plan, the Taluka Panchayat Development Plan, the self-fund augmentation efforts of the District Panchayat, financial discipline and well-organized financial planning, and the contribution of the Panchayat Department to the field of information technology.

The President of the Panchayat Parishad, Nayanaben Patel, presented the thanks. Principal Secretary for Panchayat-Village Development Shri Milind Torawane, Development Commissioner Shri Sandeep Kumar, and other key officials attended the seminar.
