New Delhi: On January 12, Directorate of Information and publicity issued (DIP) Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), to pay upto Rs 164 crores within ten days of the notice as per the sources, ANI Tweeted.

As per reports, AAP allegedly spent about Rs 97 crore on political advertisements published in the guise of Government advertisements during the financial year 2015- 2016. The development was held when the Delhi Lieutenant General (LG) VK Saxena directed the Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to recover the amount from AAP, added ANI.

Further, if the party fails to pay the money in the given period of time, strict legal action will be taken as per LG’s orders. The properties owned by the party can be attached for recovery as part of the legal action as per the law.

Earlier, DIP had directed AAP to pay Rs 42.26 crore in 2017 and pay the pending amount of Rs 54.87 crore to the advertising agencies within 30 days. However, the officials said the party had not complied with the DIP orders. It is alleged that the AAP spent the money on “non-conforming advertisements.”
