Korba: There seem to be no stop in the incidents of Hindu girls losing their lives by the Muslim men for rejecting their advances. Another horrific incident has emerged from Chhattisgarh’s Korba District, where a Muslim man Shahbaz Khan allegedly killed a 20-year-old Hindu girl by stabbing her 51 times with a screwdriver after she refused to talk to him, said the police on December 27, 2022.

According to the city Superintendent of Police (Korba) Vishwadipak Tripathi, this horrific incident took place in the pump house colony of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) on December 24, 2022. “The victim was alone in the house when the accused arrived. He covered her mouth with a pillow to muffle her screams and stabbed 51 times with a screwdriver,” said the police.

Subsequently, the victim’s brother found her in a pool of blood when he arrived home. Later, the victim died in the hospital, said the official.

The victim was identified as Neelkusum Patra. Also, preliminary investigations have revealed that the accused Shadab Khan, who hails from Jashpur District, had befriended the victim three years ago when he was working as a conductor in a passenger bus.

According to official, Khan later moved to Ahmedabad in Gujarat for work and the duo stayed in touch over phone. However, the interesting turn took place, when the woman stopped talking to him, then the accused threatened her parents.

While the accused Shadab felt being ditched, assuming the relationship of his prey of love with another man, the victim Neelkusum stopped talking to Shadab for his misbehaviour and relationship with many girls.

According to victim’s family, earlier Shahbaz threatened Neelkusum for dire consequences if she would discontinue their relationship.

Notably, in 2022, multiple cases of ‘Love Jihad’ and unrest created by Islamic forces were reported. Murder of Shraddha Walkar, Rubika Paharia, Urvashi Vaishnav, Neelam Devi, Nidhi Gupta, Ankita Kumari and others are example of this.
