Karnataka : Mangaluru blast case accused Mohammed Shariq had visited the Krishna Mutt in Udupi on October 11. According to reports, Shariq was seen wandering on the Car Street. The police probing the case have already visited Math and checked the CCTV visuals. Apart from this, the cops also monitored the CCTV around Car street.

Reportedly, the police visited Udupi after they got a clue through a phone call made from Shariq’s mobile phone, whose location was traced to a car street in Udupi.

Meanwhile, the police have decided to step up security in and around the famous Udupi Krishna Mutt. It has been reported that there was an active satellite phone in the area before the explosion. Suspicious phone calls were made from a satellite phone in the area during the blast.

This incident happened on November 19, wherein an auto-rickshaw exploded in Mangaluru, Karnataka’s coastal town, under mysterious circumstances. The passenger Mohammed Shariq in the auto-rickshaw was carrying a pressure cooker, and police found an improvised explosive device (IED) inside the cooker, which exploded.

Mohammed Shariq first came under the police radar in the Mangalore graffiti case. The explosion in a moving autorickshaw in Mangaluru was an ‘act of terror’, Karnataka Director General of Police, Praveen Sood, said on Sunday.
