The Bombay High Court decision allowing Shiv Sena (Uddhav camp) to hold the Dusshera Rally at Shivaji Park has come as a setback to the Shinde Camp. The Shinde Camp has now decided to speak to their lawyers and take a decision at the earliest, the decision will be whether to challenge the HC order in Supreme court and what next step to be taken in this regard.
However, the biggest revelation is that Shinde camp didn’t book the MMRDA ground in Bandra Kurla Complex for holding Dusshera Rally. Instead it was only for parking of vehicles that would ferry party workers to Shivaji Park.
Kiran Pawskar, spokesperson for Shinde camp said, “We are consulting our lawyers after today’s HC decision. We will soon make a decision on this, but we won’t let go off the matter.”
On being asked whether their rally will be held at the MMRDA grounds, Pawaskar revealed that the BKC ground isn’t meant for rally. “We booked the ground for parking of vehicles, as many vehicles would be ferrying the workers and we do not want to trouble the residents of Shivaji Park area and hence we booked the MMRDA ground for parking,” said Pawaskar.
Pawaskar confirmed that Shinde camp is also eyeing for the Shivaji Park location for their Dusshera rally. The reason being that Shiv Sena has historically held the rally at Shivaji Park every Dusshera.
Surprisingly, till today everyone had thought that the MMRDA grounds were booked by Shinde camp for holding the rally, as BMC had denied permission to both Uddhav Thackeray camp and Shinde camp for the Dusshera rally citing Law and Order situation.
However, now with the High Court deciding in favour of the Uddhav Camp, the scene has changed, as the Shinde camp which was also eyeing the Shivaji Park has lost round one. Only some respite from the Supreme Court can help the Shinde camp now. The next step by the Shinde camp will be taken is only after consulting the lawyers later in the evening.
