Kerala: CPM-PFI Link comes out in open as CPM leader participates in a PFI programme in Vazhoor

Reports from Kottayam suggest that LDF Government Chief Whip and local MLA of Kerala Congress (M) Dr. N. Jayaraj will inaugurate a Popular Front of India programme in Vazhoor, Kottayam district, in the first week of September, 2022.

Until now CPM – Popular Front of India nexus was always a hidden agenda-cum-operation. Now, it comes to the broad and bright daylight. Reports from Kottayam suggest that LDF Government Chief Whip and local MLA of Kerala Congress (M) Dr. N. Jayaraj will inaugurate a Popular Front of India programme in Vazhoor, Kottayam district, in the first week of September, 2022. Until now, even though both were enjoying ‘wedding of convenience’ both were denying it on public platforms. But, people of Kerala have been well aware that a lot of PFI cadres are CPM workers during the day time and ‘doing their party activities’ after sunset.

The same people got Kozikkode (LDF) Mayor Dr. Beena Philip to apologise for addressing a “Mothers’ Get Together” in connection with Janmashtami celebrations of Balagokulam, the world’s largest children’s movement.

There are allegations that some CPM leaders  in Alappzha district are having cordial relations with PFI and also PDP, organisation launched by Abdul Nasr al Madani, an Islamic terrorist leader now in Bangalore jail in connection with 20 serial Bangalore blasts and several other terror activities.

BJP leaders have denounced the CPM leader’s decision to grace the PFI programme. But, so far no Opposition leaders have come forward to call a spade a spade, thanks to the tough competition between CPM-led ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress-led Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) in appeasing minority vote bank. Even Jose K. Mani MP, Kerala Congress (M) supremo and son of late K.M. Mani, former minister and one of the main architects of UDF, keeps mum in this matter.

Now, in the wake of high voltage criticism by BJP leaders Jayaraj has said that he did not know that it was a PFI sponsored programme. He adds that as soon as he knew about the PFI connection, he informed the organisers that he would not participate. But, observers do not believe that he was not aware of the PFI link when he agreed to participate.
