Bengaluru: The prestigious Vishwa Samavada Kendra Media awards were presented to deserving Journalists and columnists.
Journalist Chee. Ja. Rajeeva was chosen for Thi. Thaa. Sharma Journalism award. Guruvappa NT Balepuni received BSN Malya Journalism award. Du Gu Lakshman received HV Sheshadri Columnist Award and Dietitian Dr. HS Prema received VSK Digital Media Award.
V. Nagaraj, Dakshin Madhya Kshetreeya Sanghachalak of RSS and Raghunandan, Dakshin Madhya Kshetreeya Samyojak, Prajna Pravah presented the awards in a glittering function held at BMS Engineering college auditorium in Bengaluru on June 26, 2022.
“The media especially English Newspapers demand money for publishing news. They approach the Doctors with an intention of extracting money. They (Newspapers) promise us to make celebrities overnight. Overall journalism ethics are diminishing. Interestingly, Organiser weekly is an exception. I am overwhelmed with the standards of Organiser and thank the news organization for regularly publishing my news which is useful to society.” Dr. HS Prema, Dietitian
“There is a significance of presenting the media awards today as the emergency was declared 47 years ago and the senior journalist K.R. Malkani was the first person to get arrested. He was the editor of Organiser and also running a Newspaper called Motherland” said V. Nagaraj.
The senior journalist Du Gu Lakshman said a journalist should be happy to receive an award and also to receive a summons to attend a court. “The difference is there will be many people to applause in an award function but nobody will be there while attending a court case,” Lakshman said.
