Pune police, on Sunday (June 12), arrested Rashid Sheikh from his house in Bhawani Peth in Pune. Police arrested Rashid due to a low-intensity blast in his house.

It is said that the blast happened when Rashid was repairing ‘washing machines’ in his house. The police have taken Rashid for further interrogation.

Police collected several incriminating evidence from his house during the search. Several SIM cards, suspicious material and incriminating literature, were confiscated from his house.

In another case, police confiscated over 1100 bullets from a scrap vendor, which is worth approximately 160000.

This is significant news as PM Modi is scheduled to visit Pune on June 14 to inaugurate Sant Tukaram Shila Mandir. Security has been beefed ahead of PM’s visit, and the temple restricted access to devotees.

Apart from PM’s visit, the Islamic organisation Al-Qaeda warned India of suicide attacks in several states of India.

In a letter dated June 6, Al-Qaeda said it would launch suicide attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat to “fight for the honour of the Muhammad”.

“We shall kill those who affront our Prophet and we shall bind explosives with our bodies and the bodies of our children to blow away the ranks of those who dare to dishonour our Prophet… The saffron terrorists should now await their end in Delhi, Bombay, UP and Gujarat,” the letter read.

The letter came after alleged ‘fact-checker’ and Alt News co-founder Muhammad Zubair posted an 85-second video on social media in which he twisted the remarks of Nupur Sharma on Muhammad’s life.

Islamists have been issuing several rape and death threats to the former spokesperson of the BJP. AIMIM (Inquilab) leader Qavi Abbasi even announced a bounty of 1 crore of Nupur Sharma. Reflecting the Taliban’s way of punishment, Nupur Sharma’s effigy was found hanging near a dargah on Friday (June 10) in Belgavi, Karnataka.

The 57-member OIC had raised concerns against the “systematic harassment of minorities in India” on Sunday. Reacting to the OIC’s statement, India slammed OIC and told the body to stop pursuing its communal approach and show due respect to all faiths and religions.

Despite issuing an apology for her comments, the Islamists refuse to spare Nupur Sharma and are constantly targeting her.

The Islamists wreaked havoc on June 10 after Friday prayers in several states in the name of protest. They pelted stones and vandalised public property in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal.

While Islamists continue to give vile threats to Nupur Sharma, Hindus in Nepal took to the streets in support of Nupur Sharma. Several Hindus held rallies in the country. They held Nepali flags and carried placards “We Support Nupur Sharma”.

Earlier, Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders came out in support of Nupur Sharma and advised Indians to stand with her. He slammed Islamic nations for condemning Nupur’s comments on Muhammad’s life and called them hypocrites. He called Nupur Sharma heroic and said Islamic nations have neither rule of law nor democracy. The Dutch lawmaker said Islamic nations persecute minorities and called Muhammad’s ideology offensive and abusive.

Wilders said he started to receive death threats for supporting Nupur Sharma and added that it would not change his stand and clarified that he would support her as she spoke the truth about Muhammad.
