An official claimed on Sunday that the 23-year-old woman who has accused Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Mahesh Joshi’s son of rape was attacked with ink in the national capital.

On Saturday night, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast District) Esha Pandey received a PCR call reporting that several miscreants had thrown something at the woman and fled. The woman was transported to AIIMS Trauma Centre shortly after the attack.

At around 9.30 p.m., the victim was travelling with her mother near Kalindi Kunj Road when two youths hurled something at her and ran. She also claims that she was ‘threatening to withdraw her complaint.’

Based on her statement, the Shaheen Bagh police station filed a FIR under sections 195 A (threatening anybody to submit false evidence), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (voluntarily causing harm), and 34 (acts done by multiple people in furtherance of a similar objective) of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Commission for Women has issued a complaint to the Delhi Police Department over the event, requesting a thorough action report.

Earlier the victim had reported Rohit Joshi, the son of Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Mahesh Joshi, of raping her multiple times in Delhi, Jaipur and elsewhere for over a year. The woman alleged that Rohit Joshi had promised to marry her after his divorce from his wife and carried out a miscarriage of her child when she became pregnant.

The woman, who belongs to Jaipur, lodged a complaint against Rohit Joshi with the Delhi police, following which a first information report was registered at the Sadar Bazar police station in north Delhi district on Sunday. The Delhi police have reportedly intimated the Rajasthan police about the FIR for further investigation.

The woman said she had developed a friendship with Rohit Joshi on Facebook and the accused invited her to Sawai Madhopur in January last year. He allegedly spiked her drinks during a party and photographed when she was unconscious. He later used the pictures to blackmail and rape her on multiple occasions, according to the FIR.
