New Delhi: The two-month-long Har Ghar Dastak campaign 2.0 gets underway on Wednesday, June 1. This mega Covid vaccination drive aims to achieve optimal coverage among all eligible beneficiaries and accelerate the pace of vaccination. The campaign will last till July 31 and will be carried out across all States and Union Territories.

The Union Health Ministry said that COVID-19 vaccination of all beneficiaries due to the second dose and eligible for precaution dose would be emphasised through door-to-door vaccination drives.

The Vaccination coverage of children aged 12 to 18 years will also be undertaken through a school-based campaign. Emphasis will be given to focused campaigns in the old age homes, schools, colleges, prisons and brick kilns, among others.

Recently, the Union Health Ministry also has advised all states and Union Territories to plan for a two-month-long ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign, officials said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of the Har Ghar Dastak campaign to ensure full vaccination in November last year.

The COVID-19 vaccination campaign ‘Har GharDastak’ first phase was launched on Nov 3 2021, aiming at awareness, mobilisation and vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries with 1st dose and all due beneficiaries with a 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccines through House-to-House visits.

Last year, the Union Health Ministry also appreciated the performance and achievement of all states and UTs during this campaign. It was highlighted that the vaccination drive under the Ghar-Ghar Dastak campaign had increased the pace of vaccination in the country.
