Dalit Hindu boy hackked to death over inter-faith relationship in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi

In yet another purported honour killing, and hate against Hindus, a 25-year-old Dalit man Vijay Kamble was brutally murdered in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi district over his association with a Muslim girl. According to his mother, Vijay was allegedly stabbed by the girl’s father and brother. She further said that if he did not cease the relationship, the girl’s relatives threatened to cut off his head.

Meanwhile, at Wadi police station, two persons — Shahabuddin (19) and Nawaz (19) — have been arrested and a case has been filed under the 302 and 34 IPC and the SC/ST Act. In addition, members of the woman’s relatives are being questioned in connection with the crime.

What Caused Vijay’s Death in Karnataka Interfaith Marriage?

On Monday night, about 8:30 p.m., the incident occurred. According to reports, an altercation erupted between the girl’s brothers Shahabuddin, Nawaz, and Vijay, near railway station. The quarrel quickly escalated, and the two stabbed Vijay with a knife and an iron rod.

“There were many bruises on his neck and impact marks on the deceased’s skull,” told Kalaburagi Superintendent of Police Isha Pant. He passed away on the spot. The attack didn’t appear to be pre-planned based on preliminary inquiry, but we’re still looking for more evidence.”
