UP Govt to help promote Nagaland products in tourist hubs

New Delhi: In a unique and special move, the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh will help boost the marketing network of Nagaland government-run PSU MARCOFED.

The Nagaland State Co-operative Marketing & Consumers’ Federation Ltd is popularly known as MARCOFED, and it is an apex level cooperative institution for marketing agricultural products. Its current chairman is BJP national vice president M Chuba Ao.

The Chairman of MARCOFED called on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow and held a meeting to promote its products in Uttar Pradesh.

Sources said they discussed the opening of MARCOFED Vandhan products outlets in all tourism destinations in UP.

The UP Chief Minister also agreed to sign an MoU for the same.

MARCOFED functions through its Head Office in Dimapur, Nagaland, with two branch offices as MARCOFED LPG Service in Kohima and Phek districts.

Also, there are marketing complexes/ Godowns and commercial buildings located in Tuensang, Longkhim, Mon, Pfutsero, Phek, Medziephema, Jalukie, Wokha and in and around Dimapur District.

MARCOFED has recently inaugurated 5 Petrol/Diesel Retail outlets in Zunheboto, Tuli and Dimapur districts. This initiative is an effort to enable the sustainability of the organization, create employment opportunities for the locals, and provide quality fuel to the public.
