Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the people of India have very high expectations from the BJP and every party men and women owe it to themselves to live up to people’s aspirations.

Addressing virtually a meeting of BJP national office bearers being held in Jaipur, the Prime Minister said the saffron party will be always guided by the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and will tread the path as shown by Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pt Deendayal Upadhyay.

He said in 2014 the people of India had decided to “write a new history” for the country and had
given a mandate to the BJP.

“Today, people of India want results and performance of the government bodies. People want to see
that steps are taken beyond the consideration of political benefits or so,” Mr Modi said.

“We are setting the aim and target for the next 25 years, it’s the time for the BJP to set the targets
for the next 25 years along with consistently working for the people of India to fulfil their aspirations,”
the Prime Minister said.

By seeing people’s confidence and expectations from the BJP, he said he finds things very encouraging.

“We cannot live contended…we have much more to do and achieve,” the Prime Minister said adding, we are in power in 18 states and have a huge number of state legislators and over 400 parliamentarians.

“But the people of India who have given us a mandate do not want us to live in satisfaction. We have to work harder to make the country achieve new heights,” the Prime Minister said.
