Residents of Uttar Pradesh living in Mumbai, will now be able to connect with their native state through an Uttar Pradesh Government office in Mumbai a new initiative of the Yogi Adityanath government, stated a government statement.

The UP government will set up a new office in Mumbai to enable UPites living in Mumbai to invest in their state, protect their interests, and ensure their social security.

According to a government statement, this office proposed by the UP government will be possible to connect with all the residents of UP who have been living in Mumbai for a long time for a job or business.

Migrants in Mumbai would be informed about the opportunities for investment in tourism, culture, and other industries in Uttar Pradesh through the proposed office, and they will be encouraged to establish businesses here. In addition, after speaking with them, a favourable and appealing “business environment” will be built for them here. They will be told that there is a large market and need for their products or services in Uttar Pradesh, and that investing here will benefit them.

For other workers, plans will be made for their benefit by this proposed office, so that it is easy for them to come to UP in case of any crisis and they can get work or employment here according to their experience and ability.

The statement said that similar steps will be taken for the workers in the unorganised sector so that their interests can be protected and they can be made aware of new possibilities.

This innovative initiative of the UP government will protect the interests of those lakhs of UP residents living in Mumbai and give them an opportunity to invest in their home state and contribute to its prosperity, added the statement.

According to estimates, roughly 50 to 60 lakh people of North Indian heritage live among Mumbai’s 1.84 crore residents, with Uttar Pradesh having the greatest population. The residents of Uttar Pradesh have made significant contributions to Mumbai’s industry, service sector, retail commerce, transportation, and food business. They play an important role in the lives of Mumbai citizens in a variety of ways. In the fields of industry and startups, UPites have also made significant contributions in Mumbai. In fields such as information technology, cinema, television, manufacturing, finance, and food processing, UP entrepreneurs make a significant contribution.

In Mumbai, a large proportion of Uttar Pradesh residents work in the unorganised sector. Due to the Covid disaster and lockdown, they had to return to their home state in large numbers in the last two years, and the Yogi government had a massive strategy in place at the time to ensure that they were not only safely transported to UP but also to their home regions, according to the statement.
