New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with state Chief Ministers to review the COVID-19 situation, on Wednesday, April 27, at 12 noon.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said: “At 12 noon tomorrow, April 27, will be interacting with state Chief Ministers to review the COVID-19 situation.”

On Tuesday, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) granted emergency use authorisation to Biological E’s COVID-19 vaccine Corbevax for those aged 5 to 12 years, informed the pharmaceutical company. Corbevax is currently being administered to children in the age group of 12-14.

The approval comes after the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) recommendation based on the review of interim safety and immunogenicity data of Corbevax for this age bracket.

A large-scale immunisation programme is going across the country.

“Way to go! Over 86 percent of the adult population is now fully vaccinated,” tweeted Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

He also wrote – “Together, let’s defeat #COVID19. Charaeveti, Charaeveti.”

Modi to visit Assam on April 28

In an official statement, the PMO also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Assam on April 28, Thursday.

At around 1100 hours, he will address the ‘Peace, Unity and Development Rally’ at Diphu in Karbi Anglong district.

During the programme, he will also lay the foundation stone of various projects in the education sector.

Thereafter, the Prime Minister will reach Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh and dedicate Dibrugarh Cancer Hospital to the nation.

Later, at around 3 PM, he will attend a public function at Khanikar ground in Dibrugarh, where he will dedicate six more cancer hospitals to the nation and lay the foundation stone for seven new cancer hospitals.

The Prime Minister’s unwavering commitment toward peace and development of the region was exemplified with the recent signing of a Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) by the Government of India and the Government of Assam with six Karbi militant outfits.

The Memorandum has ushered in a new era of peace in the region.

The Prime Minister’s address at the ‘Peace, Unity and Development Rally’ will provide a major boost to the peace initiatives in the entire region.

Diphu is in close proximity to the Dimapur region in Nagaland.

The PMO said that PM Modi would dedicate to the nation seven cancer hospitals completed under Phase 1 of the project. These cancer Hospitals are built at Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Darrang, Tezpur, Lakhimpur, and Jorhat.

He will also lay the foundation stone of seven new cancer hospitals at Dhubri, Nalbari, Goalpara, Nagaon, Sivasagar, Tinsukia, and Golaghat to be constructed under phase 2 of the project.
