The election bugle has sounded in five states, including Uttar Pradesh. The eyes of the whole country are especially on the Uttar Pradesh elections, which will be held in 7 phases, and the results will be out on March 10. Talking about the 2017 assembly elections, BJP got 312 seats. While the Samajwadi Party was reduced to just 47 seats, BSP and Congress got only 19 and 7 seats, respectively.

In the last assembly elections, BJP had an alliance with Apna Dal (S) and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party, which got 9 seats and got 4 seats, respectively. In this way, the BJP alliance had won 325 seats, thus forming the government in the state. However, this time the situation is different, and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party is in alliance with SP.

Assembly Seats which can be crucial for both BJP and SP

If we look at the last election of Uttar Pradesh, there were 47 assembly constituencies where the margin of victory and defeat was less than 5000 votes. These seats are very important for political parties in the 2022 assembly elections. Out of these 47 seats, BJP won 23, Samajwadi Party 13 and BSP 8, Apna Dal (S), Congress and RLD got one seat each.

The win-lose margin in 8 seats was less than 1000. BJP won Dumariaganj, Meerapur, Rampur Maniharan, Mohammadabad Gohana (SC) and Shravasti seats. Whereas BSP got Mant and Mubarakpur and Samajwadi Party got Mohanlalganj seat.

The victory and defeat in 9 seats were between 1000 and 2000 votes. BJP won Bhadohi, Tanda, Mahmudabad and Bharthana seats in these seats. Its ally Apna Dal (S), won the Duddhi seat. While Samajwadi Party won Matera, Bansdih and Unchahar seats, BSP won the Patti seat.

The margin of victory in 10 seats was between 2000 and 3000 votes. BJP won Gainsari, Kanth, Farenda and Badlapur seats in these seats. Samajwadi Party won Najibabad, Atraulia and Kannauj seats. BSP won in Sidhauli, Lalganj and Pratappur.

The margin of victory and defeat in 12 seats was between 3000 and 4000 votes. BJP won Moradabad Nagar, Amla, Dhaurhara, Maholi, Patiali and Bidhuna seats. SP got victory over Jangipur, Dhaulana. BSP got victory in Didarganj, Chillupar seat. On the other hand, Congress won Harchandpur, and the RLD won the Chhaprauli seat.

The margin of victory and defeat in 8 seats was between 4000 and 5000 votes. BJP won Nakur, Manjhanpur, Shahabad and Gorakhpur Rural seats in these seats. While the Samajwadi Party had succeeded in Machhlishahr, Isauli, Sahaswan and Saharanpur Nagar seats.
