Imphal: Five People's Liberation Army (PLA) terrorists who were arrested by the Myanmar army were deported to India on Wednesday by the Myanmar authority.
Five terrorists of the proscribed PLA outfit of Manipur who were reportedly arrested by the Myanmar Army and kept imprisoned at Monia in Mandalay, Myanmar were transported back into the country. They were brought back in an Indian Air Force plane which landed at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal around 11 am on Wednesday.
The terrorists, who were arrested in August, held ranks within the PLA outfit, was illegally carrying out terrorist activities in Manipur from the neighbouring country. As per their passports, they have been identified as one Naredra Nongmaijing of Kumbi; Loitongbam Rajkumar of Lakhinagar Mayai Leikai, Lakhipur Cachar; Thokchom Kalasana of Langmeidong Mayai Leikai; Salam Somendra of Tokpa Ching Mahadeva Mamang Leikai and Chaoren Rohen of Changangei Uchekon.
The five PLA terrorists after landing at the airport were further transported to the 7th MR on a Prisoners Van, sources said. It should be mentioned that on November 13, the PLA terrorists carried out a deadly ambush on the Assam Rifles convoy in Churachandpur district killing its Commanding officer his wife and minor son and four more soldiers. Security agencies believe that after the deportation of these five terrorists from Myanmar, a lot more information about the terrorist organization PLA would be revealed for further operations against it.
