Prophets of doom were singing their songs. But the 'karma yogi' spirit persisted under NDA, and India has recorded 127 crore vaccinations nationwide. While countries like the US have problems, India can export vaccines as well.

New Delhi: It was a day of rejoicing and taking a solemn pledge to pursue the developmental journey in BJP-ruled Himachal Pradesh. The state nestled in the Himalayan hills has achieved 100 per cent vaccination of targeted adult eligible population against COVID-19. And former Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, J P Nadda, was present to celebrate the occasion.

Nadda, BJP national president, said that the AIIMS at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh would be made fully functional within the next six months. The BJP President said that the setting up of AIIMS outside Delhi was a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the first AIIMS was established in the capital way back in 1960. Now, under the NDA regime, 22 AIIMS were coming up in the entire country. He said that the foundation stone of the Bilaspur AIIMS was laid about three years back by the Prime Minister.

He said that Himachal Pradesh got a Rs 500 crore Satellite centre of PGI Chandigarh at Una. Nada appreciated the leadership of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, saying that he has been working hard to make Himachal Pradesh a 'role model' for other states.

Mr Nadda, Union Minister of Health Mansukh Mandaviya, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Singh Thakur, also dedicated OPD at AIIMS Kothipura in Bilaspur.

In his address, Health Minister Mandaviya said that the AIIMS was indeed the gift of the central government to Himachal Pradesh.

Addressing the event, Chief Minister Thakur assured the state's people that they would get the facility of super-speciality treatment for all kinds of diseases at AIIMS in Bilaspur.

Mr Anurag Thakur, I&B and Sports Minister, said under Prime Minister Modi, the country has successfully handled the pandemic. He said India has today emerged as a role model for other countries of the world during the testing times of the pandemic.

Earlier, not even a single PPE kit was prepared in the country, but today, India manufactures 15 lakh PPE kits per day and can export them to several other countries.

Mr Nadda also said that while most advanced nations like the US failed to tackle the pandemic, India and its 130 crore population led by PM Modi succeeded in checking the impact by launching the most extensive vaccination campaign of the world. So far, India has administered 127 crore vaccination doses and supplies vaccines to about 50 countries across the globe.
