A massive controversy has erupted in Kerala after the recent announcements of Lalithakala Akademy Awards for the year 2019-2020. All the award winning cartoons portray India in poor light and carries a distorted version of reality, the way ‘quam-reds’ want it. Din Raj won the best cartoon award for his ‘cartoon’ titled Raja and Maharaja. Anoop Radhakrishnan and Ratheesh Ravi won Honorary mentions.
Kerala BJP President K. Surendran slammed the State government and Lalitakala Akademi for awarding anti-India cartoons. He condemned the cartoons that show India in poor light.
CPM has a history of using government institutions to carry forward their own agendas.
