ADG, law and order, Prashant Kumar told reporters: "In July and August alone, the action was taken against 248 members of Mukhtar Ansari gang, and property worth Rs 222 crore confiscated in different districts." "We have arrested 160 members of this gang and registered FIRs against 121 others," he said.

 

In the crackdown against another jailed gangster, Atiq Ahmad, who is presently lodged in Sabarmati jail, action was taken against 65 members of his gang. At the same time, property worth Rs 350 crore was confiscated.
