The Taliban killed poet and Historian Abdullah Atifi at his home in Uruzgan province’s Chora district.
The Taliban terrorists shot dead Afghanistan’s famous poet and historian Abdullah Latifi on Wednesday (August 4).
Latifi was killed in his home in Uruzgan’s province’s Chora district.
The Governor of the Uruzgan province, Mohammad Omar Shirzad, confirmed the news to the TOLO news agency.
On July 22, Afghanistan’s famous comedian Nazar Mohammad, better known as Khasha Zwan, was kidnapped from his home in Kandahar province and killed by the Taliban. His body was found hanging on a tree.
The video of Nazar Mohammad’s kidnapping has gone viral.
Taliban is making rapid advances after the withdrawal of the US-led NATO forces in the country. It now controls about 200 of the country’s 400 districts.
In the districts they have captured, they have implemented the barbaric sharia laws which defined their rule in Afghanistan from 1996-2001.
According to their diktat, women are not allowed to go to college/university, can’t move out without a veil or company of a male from the family. All forms of entertainment are banned.
The UNSC is meeting on Friday (August 6) to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.
