Director-General of IIMC said at the career counselling session of FIMT College

New Delhi, August 2: “Today there is a need for multi-talented people in the communication sector. In corporate language, such people are known as ‘T- Shaped’. India's new education policy is also trying to increase the number of ‘T shaped’ people in the country.” This view was shared by the Director-General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Prof. Sanjay Dwivedi, in an online career counselling session organized by FIMT College. In this session, students of N. K. Bagrodia Global School participated. HoD of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, FIMT College, Prof. Garima Bora, Assistant Professor S. S. Dogra and Ms. Jayshree Navani, principal, N.K. Bagrodia global school was also present.

On this occasion, Prof. Dwivedi briefed the students about the working of media organizations and shared his views about the career prospects in this field. He said that opportunities are open in skill areas like gaming, animation, multimedia, web designing and photography. Apart from journalism, students can choose other career options, which have many opportunities in production and writing for film or TV, corporate communication in the private sector and digital marketing.

Prof. Dwivedi said that Covid-19 has changed the scenario of media, so there are many employment opportunities for students in e-commerce and content creation in digital media companies. Apart from TV and film organizations, OTT platforms are also looking for good writers. In such a situation, there are immense employment opportunities for students who have good skills in writing.

The program was conducted by Raghav Mittal, and the vote of thanks was given by Mrs. Saroj Vyas. Students took part in the Counseling session and got information about job opportunities in the media and entertainment industry.
