Manipur launches app for corona isolated patients

Guwahati: Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh recently launched an app for the benefit of Covid-19 patients who prefer home isolation. Named as Manipur home isolation management mobile application, the app is developed for excessing real-time health data and information of those patients for monitoring.

With this app, patients can upload their health status including pulse rate, body temperature, blood pressure etc using fixed parameters on regular interval. For any abnormal data, the system would raise an alarm to draw the attention of monitoring team members for taking precautionary measures.

Mizoram recorded over 8,377 corona cases so far with around 2,060 active cases. The Myanmar-Bangladesh bordering State has lost at least 23 people to Covid-19. The government clarified that quarantine was yet to make mandatory for people visiting the State for less than 96 hours but they must have Covis-19 negative certificates from the competent authorities.

Tripura govt earlier extended the 24-hour corona curfew in Agartala municipal corporation area till 5 June to contain the spread of Covid-19. Bangladesh bordering State has reported over 47,295 cases with at least 470 fatalities. Private concerned offices remain closed and only emergency services of the government continue working with necessary precautions.

Meghalaya government decided to grant an ex-gratia of rupees 50,000 to families which lost their members to Covid-19 complications. The beneficiaries will be selected from the date of 1 April this year and the amount to be disbursed through the district authorities. The government also planned to increase benefits under the Megha health insurance scheme for more employees working for the State and central government.

On the other hand, Sikkim which is under a complete lockdown (from 17 to 31 May) continues to report new corona cases though the total number of not significant. Lately the tiny Himalayan State has increased the number of active cases to over 3,600 with cumulative figure at more than 14,210. Within this month, the State recorded over 6,260 corona cases with 93 casualties.

Arunachal Pradesh has increased the corona tally to over 25,000 and the Tibet bordering State has lost at least 104 people to Covid-19. It has now 3,320 active cases. The complete lockdown, imposed in its nine districts by the government in Itanagar will continue till 31 May. Nagaland increases its corona tally crossing the 21,000 marks recently. The State has around 4,940 active cases with at least 326 casualties.
