Prime Minister Narendra Modi Allocates Funds from PM CARES Fund for Installation of 551 Medical Oxygen Generation Plants

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given in-principle approval for the allocation of funds from the PM CARES Fund for the installation of 551 PSA Medical Oxygen Generation Plants in government hospitals across the country.

The dedicated Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Medical Oxygen Generation Plants inside the government hospitals across the country would ensure an uninterrupted supply of Oxygen to the units.

With the onslaught of the second wave of Covid-19, the demand for medical Oxygen has gone up across the country.
The Union government has taken multiple steps to ensure the uninterrupted supply of medical Oxygen across the country.

Earlier this year, INR 201.58 crore was released from the PM CARES Fund for the installation of an additional 162 dedicated PSA Medical Oxygen Plants.

The Ministry of Railways has been running dedicated trains to carry Oxygen from one part of the country to another.
DRDO has also been roped in to help boost the supply of medical Oxygen.
