New Delhi: In most unbecoming act, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday live telecast his speech the closed-door meeting of the Chief Ministers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and for which he was pulled up as well. No sooner, Delhi Chief Minister’s speech went on television channels and social media, a visibly upset Prime Minister quickly ticked him off. Video footage later made available showed, Kejriwal, who takes pride in calling himself an anarchist, apologised to the Prime Minister with “folded hands”
“Yeh hamari jo parampara hae, protocol hae, Uskey bahut khilaf ho raha hae,” Prime Minister said and maintained it is unbecoming that the proceedings of “an in house meeting was being telecast live”. “This is not proper (uchit nahi hae) and we must apply restraint on these,” Modi said.
Delhi CM responded saying, “Thik hae sir, iska dhyan rakhenge agey sey (Ok Sir, I will keep it in mind in future)”.
“If I have done something wrong, or have said something harsh; I tender apology for this,” Kejriwal later remarked sheepishly with folded hands.
BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya lashed out at Kejriwal for coming unprepared in the meeting. “Arvind Kejriwal is a disaster. He goes to a meeting with the Prime Minister unprepared. He has no idea about things that have already been put in place to ease oxygen supply in the capital, was uninformed on vaccine prices. How will he save Delhi? He is a disgrace as Delhi’s CM,” Malviya said.
A senior official also lamented that such a violation of protocol has taken place. “This is descending to a new low. For the first time, private conversations of the PM’s meeting with the Chief Ministers is being televised. His entire speech was not meant for any solution but for playing politics and evading responsibility”.
There were politics over CMs-PM meeting from West Bengal also.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee complained that she was not invited for today’s meeting. On this, Malviya responded saying: “Everyone knows Mamata Banerjee’ poor commitment to manage Covid pandemic in Bengal. She has not attended a single PM-CM meeting called in recent past to work a common plan citing her campaign schedule. Even though she has failed West Bengal, today’s meeting was only for high burden States”.
