A mob of devotees attacked a police chowki and a police station in Gujarat after the police asked the devotees in the mosque to follow physical distancing norms.
The incident happened in Kapadvanj in Gujarat on Tuesday.
The residents complained that the devotees in Ali Masjid in Kapadvanj were not following physical distancing.
The Gujarat government had requested the people to strictly follow the Covid compliant norms to check the spread of the virus.
The angry mob also torched two bikes and one car.
To control the angry mob, police had to resort to lathicharge and teargas. But soon, the mob overpowered the police.
