The Vishva Hindu Parishad Monday demanded an apology from Supreme Court Judge Justice Rohinton Nariman for his remarks about Rigveda.

Justice Nariman, while delivering the 26th Justice Sunanda Bhandare Memorial Lecture on April 16, had said, “Rigveda says do not make lasting friendship with women because she would be like hyena.”

The VHP asked Justice Nariman to apologise for misinterpreting the Rigveda. It added Justice Nariman might be an expert of Law but not of Vedas.

Earlier the World Hindu Foundation had asked Justice Nariman to take back his comments.
