In a letter submitted in the NIA court, suspended Mumbai Police official Sachin Waze has accused Maharashtra ministers Anil Deshmukh and Anil Parab of demanding extortion.
Waze has submitted that Deshmukh demanded INR 2 crore from him for his reinstatement in the department. Waze has been under suspension since 2004.
He has also accused the Maharashtra Home Minister of setting collection targets of INR 100 crore per month from the commercial establishments in Mumbai.
In another shocking revelation, Waze has also named Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Transport Minister Anil Parab in the letter.
Waze has accused Parab used to ask him to extract money from people for settling inquiries.
He has also recounted specific instances when Parab had asked him to collect money from contractors on his behalf.
Parab is considered close to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Earlier, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh had made similar allegations against then Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.
The Bombay High Court Monday ordered a CBI inquiry into the allegations against Deshmukh.
