Cache of Arms & Ammunition Recovered in Assam Ahead of PM Narendra Modi’s Visit

The Assam Police recovered a cache of arms and ammunition in Gossaigaon area Kokrajhar in Assam Monday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the place for an election rally on April 1.

The voting for the 126 member assembly of Assam has already started. The voter turnout in the first phase on March 27 was 77 per cent.

The remaining two phases are on April 1 & 6. The counting of votes will start on May 2.

The arms and ammunition recovered include three AK 56 and live bullets.

Strict security arrangements have been put in place for the visit of the prime minister.

The Assam Police told the press the recovery was made when the search operation was on for the prime minister’s visit.
