Resentment against China runs deep in Taiwan. In a survey, 67 % of people in Taiwan answered in the negative when asked if they would take the Chinese vaccine against Covid-19.
The reason cited is the lack of transparency about the development of the vaccine. China has refused to share any data about the Covid-19 virus with the outside world.
The Taiwan Times reported the findings of the survey.
All attempts of the World Health Organisation to investigate the origin and spread of the Covid-19 virus was stonewalled by China.
The WHO team, which visited Beijing to collect the samples and data, was presented with the findings of the Chinese authorities and not allowed to do research of their own.
The team returned empty-handed.
The Chinese authorities have been floating many conspiracy theories about the origin and spread of the Covid-19 virus.
