Delhi Chief Minister and National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal announced Tuesday his government would establish the country’s first teachers’ university in Delhi.
He added the institute will train the best teachers’ in the country.
But, there is a catch.
There is already a teachers’ university in Gujarat for a decade now.
Established by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Institute of Teacher Education has been functional since 2011 in Gandhinagar.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Harshad Patel, tweeted quoting Arvind Kejriwal’s tweet, “Sir, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji was the chief minister of Gujarat, he had established IITE (Teachers’ University) in 2011. Currently, I’m the Vice-Chancellor of the university.”
This is not the first time he has been caught spreading lies. In the recent past, he has been spreading many lies about the progressive farm laws enacted by the central government.
