BSNL towers installed at Melak village in Ladakh, Villagers Celebrate

After the revocation of article 370, Ladakh is now going to be a new example of development and progress. The present Modi Government is giving its special focus on the Indo-China border, giving all kind of infrastructure to improve connectivity to this important strategic locality.
For the first time, mobile connectivity has started in Merak and Khakted village on the southern edge of Pangong Tso. Chushul councillor Konchok Stanjin inaugurated the BSNL tower at Merak.

Ladakh has a long history of the coexistence of army and civilians. Recently, when the army needed a lot of support in eastern Ladakh during tensions with China, the villagers of zero border stood with the Indian army.
Army and villagers help each other in times of need
The villagers delivered food items on the high altitude military surprises. If the situation was normal, under Operation Sadbhavana, the army laid the OFC cable to realise the decades-old dream of the villagers. Army and BSNL together installed mobile towers.

BSNL provided the necessary equipment and Chushul councillor Konchok Stanjin provided a solar energy system for the project. With the reduction of tension on the LASI and the introduction of quad vaccination, the stalled development activities in Chushul and Changthang are expected to kick-start soon.
