Kerala: Muslim Youth League leader accused of using Kathua -Unnao Funds to pay his own debts

Fresh allegations have been levelled against Muslim Youth League state general secretary P K Firoz that he misappropriated the funds obtained through donations in the name of sensational rape cases in Kathua (J&K) and Unnao (U.P). The former member of the Muslim Youth League National COmmitte Yusuf Padanilam has raised the allegation against Firoz and CK Subair.
Funds were collected from the public including in mosques on April 20 for protection to the families of the victims and to provide legal support in the incidents in Kathu and Unnao. Crores of rupees were collected. But there is no data on this. Rs 15 lakh from this fund was used to pay off Firoz’s debts and Subair used the funds for his North India trips, Yusuf said adding that he was being threatened to conceal the information.
Many leaders IUML leaders including PK Kunhlikutty had raised the issue. Firoz had promised ti to solve the issue within six months. But there was no progress. Hence the issue is being brought to the attention of the public, he added.
The Punjab Muslim Federation is in charge of the Kathua and Unnao cases.
