CPM goons have gone on a rampage after their victory in the recently concluded Kerala local body elections in Kerala. Sensing the impending danger after an outstanding performance by the BJP, CPM activists have tried to physically attack BJP workers and destroy party offices. Such violent incidents have been reported from all over the state. BJP offices were attacked in Kanjangaadu, a place in Kasaragod district and a stronghold of CPM.
Offices in Arayi Karthika and Arayi Palakkal were vandalised by a group of CPM hooligans. Doors and windows were broken and all the materials inside the offices were destroyed. Two activists of BJP who were inside the party office were brutally attacked. Stones were pelted at the house of BJP leader Umanatha Rao’s daughter Prasanna teacher by CPM goons. CPM activists also threw crackers inside the house of Madhavan, who was a BJP candidate at Nellikkat. Madhavan’s wife suffered injuries.
Similar attacks also took place at Appatti and Puthiyakotta. CPM victors processions turned out to be anti-BJP attacks. BJP has expanded its base in Kerala and also won seats in CPM’s bastions in Kannur and Kasaragod. CPM is scared of BJP replacing Congress as the main opposition party. Therefore the party is deploying violent means to resist the saffron surge in Kerala.
