Legal Rights Observatory has accused Badaruddin Ajmal owned Ajmal Foundation of diverting foreign funds received for its educational initiatives to AIUDF’s ‘political activities’. LRO has tweeted that the Ajmal Foundation had received Rs 69.55 Crore, but spent just Rs 2.05 crore. The remaining amount is believed to have been diverted to AIUDF, an Islamist party openly endorsing Bangladeshi Muslims. To prevent BJP from coming back to power in the state, AIUDF is revitalising their network and using its money power to keep Muslim vote intact. LRO also wrote a letter to the Union Home Ministry stating that the Ajmal Foundation has violated the rule of the land and its FCRA license needs to be scrapped.

AIUDF receives funds from various dubious forces who are Islamists by their very nature. One of Ajmal foundation’s donor Al Imdaad Foundation UK is notoriously known for its links with Palestinian terror group Hamas which has conducted numerous suicide bombings against Israel. This foundation collects Halal certification fees in millions and diverts the amount for terror funding purposes. An Australian sanding committee report said “2nd Palestinian Intifada.”Al-Imdaad Foundation – a South African charity, the British branch of which has previously partnered with Viva Palestina- pro-Hamas charity established by George Galloway n that included Hamas activists among its staff”.

Another donor, Ummah welfare trust UK, is accused of having terror links and money laundering. Gulf-based newspaper Al-Arabiya had reported “The Ummah Welfare Trust, a UK-based, which has been designated as a terrorist entity by the US Treasury, in the past.” Ajmal’s Turkey-based donor- Insani Yardim Vakfi is well known for its direct links with Al-Queda and Global Jihad Network. Foundation’s donor Muslim Aid UK has links with Kashmir based terrorist organisation Hizb Ul Mujahidin.

With Assam elections around the corner, Congress party is trying to ally with AIUDF to check the rise of BJP. There have been multiple reports of AIUDF aiding Islamic fundamentalism in the region and receiving foreign aids from dubious sources. If such foundations are allowed a free run, anti-national activities will be carried out in full pace and it will someday become a Frankenstein’s monster.
