Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led state cabinet has cleared a proposal to rename Ayodhya Airport as Maryada Purushottam Sri Ram Airport. The government has set a deadline of December 2021 for the completion of this project. This airport is expected to aid the development of Ayodhya town since the temple town will attract more tourists after the completion of Ram temple at Ayodhya.
“The government believes that there will be huge tourist traffic — both domestic and international — in Ayodhya when the construction of a grand Ram temple is completed. The airport will further facilitate this,” said an official spokesman.
After the formation of the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, there have been constant efforts to change the invaders’ symbolisms in UP. The name of Allahabad was changed to Prayagraj, Mughalsarai railway station was renamed as Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay railway station and Faizabad to Ayodhya district.
