Amid widespread demonstrations in support of freedom of speech after the brutal murder of French teacher Samuel Paty, a radical teacher at Jamia Hafsa Madrasa beheaded the effigy of French President Emmanuel Macron in front of women students in Pakistan. The video of abhorrent and barbaric act went viral on social media platforms.

According to other reports, nearly 10,000 people marched in Karachi, toward the French Embassy, where they clashed with the police. The angry mob also hanged an effigy of French President Emmanuel Macron from a highway overpass after pounding it with their shoes.

In Lahore, around 10,000 followers of the radical Islamic Tehreek-e-Labbaik party took to the streets and chanted anti-France slogans. “There’s only one punishment for blasphemy,” bellowed Khadim Hussain Rizvi, a fiery cleric leading the march. “Beheading! Beheading!” the protesters yelled back.
