An ENT doctor from Kozhikode district has come out with new medicine for fighting Coronavirus. Dr E Sukumaran, from Koyilandy, suggests that two drops of glucose liquid could be an effective preventive medicine against the Covid-19.

“Putting two drops of glucose liquid in the nose, twice a day, will be very effective for resisting Coronavirus,” says Dr E Sukumaran.

In the early stage, the coronavirus mainly affects the upper respiratory tract. The Oxygen ions present in glucose can break the lipid membrane of the novel coronavirus and kill it. The liquid should contain at least 25 per cent of glucose.

According to the doctor, the glucose will destroy the virus, without any side effects. In a report published in Mathrubhumi Daily, the doctor says this treatment can be used as a preventive measure for combating the Covid-19.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has reportedly appreciated Dr Sukumaran and advised him to approach research bodies to conduct further study on his findings.
