Special CBI court verdict dismisses Secular-Liberal claim that demolition was a pre-planned move

The truth has finally prevailed. A Special CBI court hearing the Ayodhya disputed structure demolition case of December 6, 1992, acquitted all the 32 accused, including BJP leaders S/Shri LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushri Uma Bharti and former UP Chief Minister Shri Kalyan Singh along with 28 others on September 30, 2020. CBI Special Judge Surendra Kumar Yadav said that the act was spontaneous and not a pre-planned move.
The court observed that the accused are being acquitted due to the lack of evidence. Twenty-six out of the 32 accused were present in the special court when the judgment was pronounced.
The CBI court has even said that the accused persons were in fact trying to save the disputed structure from being demolished and observed that the evidence was tampered with.
The judgment in the case is 2,300 pages long. While acquitting all the accused, the CBI court has said the “Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) had no role to play directly or indirectly” in the demolition. The court observed that “unknown people threw stones from the back”.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and VHP welcomed the judgment. Responding to the verdict, RSS Sar Karyavah Shri Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi tweeted: “Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh welcomes the CBI Special Court’s verdict of acquitting all those who were accused in the demolition case of the controversial structure.”

The CBI Special Court verdict has blown the lid off a ‘conspiracy’ hatched by Left-Liberal journalists and vested interests not only to mislead the investigators and court in the demolition case but to build a narrative against RSS and other Sangh organisations. While delivering the judgment, the court observed that “all video cassettes” produced as evidence by witnesses such as journalist Seema Chisti, Vinod Dua, Shakeel Ahmad and Rafi Sultan “were doctored”. A witness has admitted that not a single accused were seen near or around the disputed structure which was demolished.
All the cassettes were tampered with. The court also observed that ‘none of the cassettes were sealed’ and that ‘CBI should restrained itself from producing such cassettes’. CBI produced an audio tape and transcript of public addresses by Sadhvi Ritambhara wherein “audio cassettes were not sealed, no certificate was produced, transcript and content of audio was completely different”.
In his statement in Hindi, he stated: “After this verdict, all sections of the society should come together to combat the challenges being faced by the nation successfully and work towards the development of the nation.”
VHP President Shri Alok Kumar called the verdict ‘a victory of truth and justice’. In a statement, Shri Kumar said, “The decision in the criminal case related to the disputed structure of Ayodhya has arrived and truth and justice have triumphed. However, it took 28 years for the courts to pass this decision. We hope that with this decision, there will be clarity on those subjects which have been disturbing the Hindu psyche for the last 472 years.”
“There were 49 FIRs, the prosecution produced 351 witnesses and around 600 documents were given in the court. The tenure of the judge hearing the case had to be extended several times even after he retired. Then this decision has come,” he said.
Shri Kumar also remembered the 17 accused who passed away during the trial including Bal Thackeray, Ashok Singhal, Mahant Avaidyanath, Giriraj Kishore, Vijayaraje Scindia and others. He said, “In the order of Hon’ble Supreme Court on November 9, 2019, it was declared that the subject land in Ayodhya does in fact belong to Ram Lalla Virajman and today’s decision has debunked the conspiracy charges as well. Now is the time that we rise above politics, and instead of looking back, again and again, move forward to build an organised and advanced India.”
Calling upon all sections to work for prosperous future of the country, he said, “Indian society now has to focus its attention on the future. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad dedicates itself to the construction of a grand temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi, and the establishment of ‘Samaras Samaj’. At the same time, we have to create a strong India that can successfully face the challenges within itself and at the border. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad will continue its struggle to protect the temple and its properties and the income of the temple will be spent only for works of religion and social interest.”
