After three days of interrogation, Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau today in connection with the drugs case. The case has links with the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput.

The NCB has arrested her under various sections of NDPS Act (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985). She has been taken for a medical test. She is expected to be present before magistrate via video conferencing by 7.30 pm tonight. Rhea Chakroborty had earlier denied the charges of consuming drugs. Her brother Showik Chakraborty has also been arrested by NCB.

The drug scandal came to light when NCB investigated into her WhatsApp chats in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

Contrary to her earlier statement, Rhea Chakraborty has now admitted before the NCB that she was consuming marijuana and many hard drugs. Rhea also revealed that through his brother Showik, she met the drug peddler Basit Parihar, who is currently in NCB’s custody.

The prime accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, Rhea Chakroborty has reportedly given the names of several actors, directors and producers who are allegedly related to drugs scandal, during interrogation. She has also mentioned about recent Bollywood drug parties in her revelation. Now, the NCB will start issuing summons to those participated and conducted the drug parties.

The NCB has already arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda and his house staffer Dipesh Sawant. Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are also investigating Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
