Hindu Jagarana Vedike (HJV) organised a massive protest today in Bengaluru condemning the Bengaluru riots by a Islamist mob on August 11th. The HJV strongly condemned the recent attack on house of Dalit Leader and Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy and other residents. The protesters also decried the attack on Police Station, police personnel and public property during the riots.

The HJV has also demanded a ban on the Islamists organisations SDPI and PFI, whose members were accused for being part of the mob. SDPI dist secretary and other functionaries have been arrested by the police for planning and executing the riots.

The police have arrested more than 300 rioters so far and 52 FIRs have been filed in the Bengaluru riots of August 11. The arrests were made by both the Central Crime Branch (CCB) and the eastern division police. The numbers of rioters arrested could rise as the investigation is still on and rioters are still being recognised using CCTVs, mobile phone tower location and other technical evidence. Many arrests are made on the basis of digital evidence, as per the police.
