“The Indian Army is a strong army and can defeat China. Rahul Gandhi don’t indulge in politics in this”, says the father of a Indian army soldier who fought in the Galwan valley battle with the Chinese forces in Ladakh.
The father of the soldier, identified as Balwant Singh, has lambasted Rahul Gandhi for using him and his son to further his politics. The Wayanad MP had tweeted a video of Balwant Singh and accused the government and ministers of lying about the Galwan clash ‘to protect the PM’. In the video, Balwant Singh was heard quoting his son who had called him from hospital to narrate the events of the clash. Rahul Gandhi has used this video to target Modi government.
However, today ANI released a video of Balwant Singh where he castigates Rahul Gandhi for indulging in politics over the clash. “The Indian Army is a strong army and can defeat China. Rahul Gandhi don’t indulge in politics in this…my son fought in the army and will continue fighting in the army”, he says in the video.
Rahul Gandhi and Congress party has been trying to use the latest stand-off between India and China to score political points. From accusing the government of not sharing details of the clash to parroting the Chinese line over Ladakh clash, Rahul Gandhi and Congress have indulged in the worst form of politicking over Indian Army and the country’s security.
Even during the all-party meet, while every political party supported the stand of the Indian government, Congress president Sonia Gandhi blamed the government and asked for ‘more details’ about the preparedness of the Indian Forces, specifically the mountain strike corps. The attitude of Congress party during the entire episode has raised many eyebrows as it matches the official Chinese version of events at the border.
