Upset by the Indian Government’s move to scrap Article 370 and dividing the region into two Union territories, Pakistan has announced severing of bilateral trade and down grading diplomatic ties with India. It has also decided to take the matter to the United Nations. According to the decision taken at the National Security Committee, Chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan and attended by Defence Minister, Foreign Minister, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, DG ISI, Chiefs of three services and other officials, Pakistan has also decided to observe its Independence Day on August 14 in solidarity with Kashmiris. Reports indicate that the leadership of Pak Army was meeting the top terrorist with an aim to chalk out a way forward in Kashmir. The terrorist leadership seem to be urging the army brass to do something and not let India walk away with its fait accompli on Kashmir (sniwire.com dated August 7, 2019 by Surya Gangadharan). It may be recalled that the India has already suspended trade with Pakistan after the Pulwama attack. The issue of Pakistan raising the matter with United Nations will not affect India as Pakistan has always been doing it albeit with no success.
