Bhilwara: Apna Sansthan, a leading organisation dedicated to the cause of environment protection, organised a workshop on July 13 to impart training to the workers on how to grow a dense forest and how the plants can be nurtured with limited efforts. The workshop was inaugurated by Mahant Shri Santdas Maharaj and patron of Apna Sansthan Shri Trilokchand Chhabra.

In the beginning, secretary of the Sansthan Shri Vinod Melana provided detailed information about the workshop. Globally famous environmentalist Shri Radhakrishna Nayyar who came from Mumbai, imparted training to the participants on how to grow dense forests with limited efforts. He particularly educated them about the Miyawaki forest which is grown in 100 sq. metre area by planting 400 plants of local varieties. He also apprised the participants of the benefits of the forests. President of Apna Sansthan Shri Sunil Chaudhary also spoke.

Miyawaki is a technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki that helps build dense, native forests. The approach is supposed to ensure that plant growth is 10 times faster and the resulting plantation is 30 times denser than usual. Shri Miyawaki was felicitated with the world’s highest botanical award in the year 2006. Shri Radhakrishna Nayyar of Mumbai is the co-founder of this method. A total of 70 workers from 20 places of Rajasthan joined the workshop.
