The Indian Mujahideen (IM) has issued a threat message to Bareilly railway station superintendent Satyaveer Singh, threatening to ‘blow up the station if kanwarias pass through Muslim-dominated areas in the city’.
In the letter, written by the IM area commander Munne Khan alias Mullah, has said: “I, area commander of IM, want to inform station superintendent that if Kanwarias pass through the Muslim dominated areas, we will explode the railway station. You better inform the police and administration.”
Station house officer of the government railway police, Bareilly, Krishna Avtar said, “We are keeping a close eye on each and every person visiting station.”
The railway station is now under tight surveillance of the security agencies. The security has been intensified and security personnel in civil dress are being deployed there.

The Kanvar (or Kanwar/ Kavad) Yatra is an annual Hindu pilgrimage of devotees of Shiva, known as K?nvarias(Kavadiyas), to holy places of Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in Uttarakhand to fetch holy waters of Ganges River. The devotees mainly come from the surrounding states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Bihar and some from Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
