RSS Swayamsevaks and Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti render exceptional humanitarian service during Jagannath Rath Yatra

Swayamsevaks of RSS and Volunteers of  Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti rendered service in 8 areas during Rath Yatra
 
Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS), Bhubaneswar, Odisha in association with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Odisha provided 8 different types of seva (service) during the recently concluded Rath Yatra in Puri. The Seva activities included first aid, distribution of medicines, sprinkling of water, distribution of drinking water, stretcher seva, provisioning ambulance services, creating corridor for ambulance & emergency services and attending to ailing patients.
 
First Aid was organised and coordinated by Dr. Anjan Kumar Sahoo and Dr. Subrat Kumar Mishra. Both have treated more than 458 of patients and distributed medicines free of cost. They were assisted by 5 Pharmacists and 5 RSS swayamsevaks. Given the sweltering heat, humidity and dust in the coastal town, sprinkling of water was done by 20 volunteers. Further 20 volunteers distributed safe drinking water to the devotees and participants of the Rath Yatra.
 
Stretcher Seva was coordinated 25 Swayamsevaks. 8 volunteers took care of Ambulance services while many assisted in creating a corridor for the ambulance. Swayamsevaks and volunteers of UBSS also worked towards creating a smooth passage for the ailing pilgrims and also tended to ailing patients in hospitals as their bed side attendants. Sri Rudra Narayan Mohapatra co-ordinated the entire seva during Rath Yatra.
 
Inauguration of Seva Activities for Rath Yatra
 
The seva activities were inaugurated on July 4th by Sri Sunilpada Goswami, Senior Pracharak of RSS. Sri Gopal Prasad Mohapatra, Kshetra Karyavaha, Sri Anil Kumar Mishra, Karyavaha, Odisha Purva, Sri Sudarsan Das, Saha Karyavaha, Odisha Purva, Sri Bipin Prasad Nanda, Prant Pracharak, Odisha Purva, Sri Srustidhar Biswal, Saha Prant Pracahrak, Odisha Purva and Sri Bipin Bihari Padhy, Vice-President, UBSS and Sri Dibakar Prasad Harichandan, Joint Secretary, UBSS were present on the occasion.
 
Sri Goswami spoke on the occasion and narrated that Seva is a part and parcel of RSS as well as UBSS and thanked all the 700 swayamsevaks for their voluntary participation in the Car Festival. Dr. Bana Bihari Mishra, Chief Cardiologist of KIIMS, Hospital Inaugurated the seva activities by lighting the lamp. He also launched the Ambulance Seva. Sri Dibakar Prasad Haricandan, Joint Secretary, UBSS introduced the guests and Dr. Bijaya Kumar Swain, Member, UBSS gave vote of thanks to all the participants as well as the dignitaries.
