Art is a Medium to Serving the Nation

?There is nothing individual in art. It is a medium of serving the nation. The objective of the nation?s progress should not disappear while focusing on our individual progress . Everyon emust be conscious about it,? said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, while presenting Dinanath Mangeshkar Memorial Awards on April 24.

Mumbai: “There is nothing individual in art. It is a medium of serving the nation. The objective of the nation’s progress should not disappear while focusing on our individual progress . Everyon emust be conscious about it,” said RSS Sarsanghachalak Shri Mohan Bhagwat, while presenting Dinanath Mangeshkar Memorial Awards on April 24.
 
People from various fields like music, play, film and literature were felicitated for their contribution to the different fields of art. Baba Saheb Purandare was also present. DG of CRPF Shri Vijay Kumar presided over the function.

Scriptwriter Salim Khan, film actress Helen and film director Madhur Bhandarkar were felicitated with Ma. Dinanth Special Awards. Noted Bharatnatyam artist Dr Sucheta Bhide was felicitated with Dinanath Puraskar, Shri K Prasad Kambali of Bhadrakali Production with Mohan Vagh Puraskar, Talyogi Ashram of Pt Suresh Talvalkar with Anandmayi Puraskar and Marathi poet Shri Vasant Abaji Dahake with Vagvilasini Puraskar.
 
Shri Bhagwat further said merely having good qualities is not enough we all must make efforts to make the entire country good through our qualities. What is expressed through art influences the heart directly. Referring to the work of Dinanath Mangeshkar he said God perhaps had made him for the art. Whatever he was blessed by the nation, he used that for the nation. His plays instil in us patriotism. It was very effective during the freedom movement. His family has maintained that tradition.
 
Lata Mangeshwar donated Rs one crore for the help of the soldiers who were martyred during Pulwama terrorist attack. This amount was accepted by CRPF DG Shri Vijay Kumar. Lata Mangeshkar could not join the function due to poor health. Her sister Usha Mangeshwar presented the amount to Shri Vijay Kumar. Other artists also presented Rs 18 lakh to the CRPF.
