VHP welcomes Union Government’s move to return 42 acres of land to Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas

Vishva Hindu Parishad welcomed the application of Union Government to the Hon'ble Supreme Court for returning 42 acres of land of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas to the organisation.

New Delhi: Vishva Hindu Parishad welcomed the application of Union Government to the Hon’ble Supreme Court for returning 42 acres of land of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas to the organisation.

 
“The Nyas had obtained the land for the construction of Shri Ram Mandir,” said Adv Alok Kumar, International Working President, VHP in a statement issued today.
 
The Union Government had acquired a total of 67.703 acres of land in 1993. This included the land of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas. The land under litigation, i.e. where the disputed structure existed, admeasures only 0.313 acres, the statement added.
 
“All other lands including of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas is not under any dispute. The Hon’ble Supreme Court had said in M. Ismail case that the superfluous land shall be returned to its owners,” said the statement.

The VHP also hoped that the Hon’ble Supreme Court should expeditiously decide the application filed by Govt. of India.
