I would like to appreciate the article “When Lal salaam appropriates Jai Bhim”, by Dr Balwan Singh in Organiser dated April 15,2018. The author has very thoroughly analysed and exposed the hypocritic attitude of communist leaders vis a vis Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Former have been taking advantage of not only his name to befool people of this Nation but other nationalist heroes also from time to time.They forgot that Dr Ambedkar”s philosophy was always patriotic and he was a hard core believer in democracy, unlike the Communists. Latter so-called champion of trade unions and women activism failed to recognise that it was the effort of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar who reduced labour hours from 12 to eight and introduced maternity leave concept.In fact, there is a need to understand Dr Ambedkar in the right perspective. He has been too politicised for electoral reasons and the positive ideas that he stood for are lost in the din.
